Peerform It! - Press release 2

The International Seminar Peerform It! has finished succesfully


From the 18th to the 23rd of April in Ezcaray (Spain), professionals that work with the youth with interculturality and inclusion have participated in this initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The objectives of this activity, to share the good practices each of the organizations locally implement as well as to make new connections for future projects, have been widely achieved.

21 professionals from the 7 participating entities, ON&OFF as coordinator, Dinamica Teatral as collaborator, and Theatre - Studio “Studentina” (Bulgaria), Association for promotion of IT, Culture and Coexistence IKS (Croatia), Associazione Culturale Zoe (Italy), Stichting The English Theatre STET (Netherlands) y Asociaţia Bolyongo Színházi Egyesület (Romania) as participants, have gathered in the north of Spain to share the good practices about interculturality and inclusion they carry out with their youth.

Each of the participating organizations led a 1,5 hour workshop with a theoretical introduction, an implementation of the activities and a part used for questions and comments. It must also be highlighted the presence of Fernando Ruiz, the pedagogical and artistic director of Dinamica Teatral, who shared a good practice on the use of theatre with the mentally disabled. 

"Peerform It!" is a European project funded under the Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Comission; and therefore a workshop to share experiences, good practice and tips in the planning, implementation and reporting of Erasmus+ programme was implemented.

In the development of this seminar, professionals in the field of youth, art and interculturality have made new connection and started developing new transnational projects, as well as created new educational materials and intellectual outputs to disseminate the use of theatre as a tool to promote among the youth values such as solidarity, inclusion, respect and intercultural dialogue.

Presenting Peerform It! in La Rioja's Youth Institution

The Seminar started today with a presentation of the project in the IRJ (La Rioja's Youth Institution), where we were welcomed by Giorgio Cerina, the General Director for Foreign Action and Ruth Ruiz, who was representing the IRJ. We were also accompanied by Alejandro Ramonda representing Dinámica Teatral. 

There we recieved the warm welcome on behalf of the regional government and the encouragement to feel as if we were at home since La Rioja is such an European region. We also presented what "Peerform It!" is aiming to achieve as well as the outputs that will be developed during this week. Moreover, all the entities briefly presented the good practices that will be shared during this seminar.

From the 18th until the 23rd of April this initiative funded under the Erasmus+ program will take place. It will gather professionals in the field of theatre and education with the aim of sharing good practices with promote social inclusion and interculturality among young people.

“Peerform it!” is a project of European dimension funded under the Key Action 1 of the European Commission’s programme Erasmus+. Its main objective is to join together different organisations focused on promoting intercultural values and teaching second languages to young people thanks to the use of non formal and theater tools. The main activity implemented during the project will be a transnational seminar that will take place between the 18th and 25th of April 2017 in Ezcaray (Spain), and on which 25 professionals from six different countries will take part. 

Coordinated by Asociación Juvenil Teatral ON&OFF (ES) with the cooperation of Theatre - Studio  “Studentina” (BG), Association for promotion of IT, Culture and Coexistence (IKS) (HR), Associazione Culturale Zoe (IT), Stichting The English Theatre (STET) (NL) and Asociaţia Bolyongo Színházi Egyesület (RO), this seminar will allow that representatives from these organisations and managers of their programmes can participate in a programme of work designed not only to provide them a new knowledge and skills on interculturality through theater, but also on how to use them at transnational level as a tool to achieve the social inclusion of youth on their communities and their development. 

Besides this, the project (and especially its final seminar) has been designed as a framework on which participants could work on the construction and creation of new transnational initiatives after “Peerform it!” to develop new intellectual outputs focused on the use of theater as learning tool towards interculturality (promoting among young people inclusive values such as solidarity, tolerance or intercultural dialogue). Finally, the project will provide a visibility system that will increase the presence of its partners on their local communities and that will contain the main output of the project: a document with all the good practices presented during the project.

Welcome to "Peerform It!"
