About the Project

“Peerform it!” is a project of European dimension funded under the Key Action 1 of the European Commission’s programme Erasmus+. Its main objective is to join together different organisations focused on promoting intercultural values and teaching second languages to young people thanks to the use of non formal and theater tools. The main activity implemented during the project will be a transnational seminar that will take place between the 18th and 23rd of April 2017 in Ezcaray (Spain), and on which 20 professionals from six different countries will take part. Coordinated by Asociación Juvenil Teatral ON&OFF (ES) with the cooperation of Theatre - Studio “Studentina” (BG), Association for promotion of IT, Culture and Coexistence (IKS) (HR), Associazione Culturale Zoe (IT), Stichting The English Theatre (STET) (NL) and Asociaţia Bolyongo Színházi Egyesület (RO), this seminar will allow that representatives from these organisations and managers of their programmes can participate in a programme of work designed not only to provide them a new knowledge and skills on interculturality through theater, but also on how to use them at transnational level as a tool to achieve the social inclusion of youth on their communities and their development.

Moreover, this programme will aim to increase the funding possibilities and transnational cooperation of the project partners thanks to activities related to give visibility and discover programmes such as Erasmus+ as a tool to facilitate the networking among them. This will make possible to create synergies among these entities and their staff on the implementation of education projects that could involve young people from different countries, increasing also the technical capacity of their teams on the coordination and management of this kind of initiatives. The seminar will also contain dynamics to reinforce the networks of the project partners at international level thanks tovisits to public institutions and local partners of ON&OFF as hosting entity. This will make possible that project partners can discover how the organisation manages its programmes, work with other actors at local level and see how ON&OFF has implemented other European projects under Erasmus+ on the last years. To achieve all the goals mentioned before and the project objectives, all the activities designed will promote an active and cooperative participation among participants as peers thanks to workshops and group dynamics that will facilitate to learn about all the partner organisations, their programmes, best practices on intercultural education using theatre and discover the peculiarities of all the countries involved in the project.

Besides this, the project (and especially its final seminar) has been designed as a framework on which participants could work on the construction and creation of new transnational initiatives after “Peerform it!” to develop new intellectual outputs focused on the use of theater as learning tool towards interculturality (promoting among young people inclusive values such as solidarity, tolerance or intercultural dialogue).

Finally, the project will provide a visibility system that will increase the presence of its partners on their local communities. This will also provide them a better position on the European field thanks to tools such as press notes, regular publications on social networks and the creation of a blog that will contain all the information about the project, news and the main result of the “Peerform it!”: a document containing all the good practices showed during the seminar and the materials created on it.
